About the Author
David Gordon directs CAST’s publishing and communications programs. He is the editor of several books about education. Anne Meyer is co-founder of CAST, a nonprofit education research and development organization. Building on a career-long interest in the intersection of curriculum design and educational psychology, particularly affect and motivation in learning, Dr. Meyer is a primary author of the principles of universal design for learning (UDL). David Rose is a developmental neuropsychologist and educator.

Almost all fluff

I was expecting much more information on application of UDL. Instead this is just patting itself on the back praising the wonderful merits of UDL and why it's needed. The reason I got this is because I already believe in UDL and wanted more application information! Of seven chapters I found only two of them to have any useful information in them and even that was very primary information.
The book is clearly designed as an afterthought to the online edition of this (which is free by the way) and includes links to videos in the book that clearly can't be clicked in a book format.
All-in-all this is a very disappointing book. It may be good to hand to a fellow educator that is not familiar with UDL or new teachers starting an education program.

Important Resource for Educators

Anne Meyer and David Rose were pioneers in creating methods for utilizing technology to enable persons with a variety of disabilities to access learning. Endorsed by the Department of Education, programs developed by their co-founded organization, CAST ( the Center for Applied Special Technology) have been expanded from benefiting a limited constituency to becoming truly beneficial to the larger community of learners. Teachers, social workers, and technology professionals will find this updated resource based on CAST's well-documented work to be readable and applicable to many aspects of education.

An excellent resource for educators at all levels

This book is a great resource for educators at all levels who are interested in learning more about Universal Design for Learning. Information is presented in a straightforward manner. Allows readers to easily implement UDL strategies in the classroom.
