About the Author
Richard Diaz, is founder of diaz human performance, a California based sports performance business, The Natural Running Network and creator of the Natural Running Coaches Certification Program. Mr. Diaz has extensive experience in clinical diagnostics (VO2 max and resting metabolic assessments), running mechanics video analysis and gait correction and of course coaching. He also hosts a weekly podcast for runners titled “The Natural Running Network Live” where he interviews some of the greatest athletes of our time along with a Q&A show dedicated to the recreational runner with a focus on marathon training and injury prevention.

A Sound Approach to Improving Your Running

Having received hands-on training by the author over this past month, I can happily recommend this insightful guide to gaining technical and strengthening tips to achieve your "Best Race." But it is more than a mere compilation of isolated tips - it provides a full scale philosophy of recreational running that ties everything from health & diet research to painful drills & exercises into one sound overarching approach that's without a doubt going to reap rewards for your effort in taking to heart this valuable training method. Thanks, Richard, for taking the time to bind together your years of experience and running wisdom into one volume!

Informative and easy to understand

This book is essential for any runner who wants to take their running seriously. Even if you are a casual runner the information in this book makes all the time you spend running more effective. I have been following Richard's guidance for quite some time and its great to have all of his experience in one book. The best part is that you don't have to sift through tons of scientific jargon. The book is written in a way that we can all understand and apply to our running right away.. I believe in the information that is presented in this book so much that I use it as an athlete and a coach. Get a copy and you'll see what I mean!

This plan works!

I started following Richard's podcasts and purchased My Best Race and applied his prescription to my marathon training. I changed from a "no pain, no gain" mentality to a "train the aerobic system" mentality, paying particular attention to heart rate. Over that time, I dropped my marathon time from just a couple of minutes short of 4 hours down into the 3:20s and the improvements continue. The plan makes sense and if you stick with it, you WILL see remarkable results!
