A native of Mississippi, Dr. C. Lavonne Teague pursued her bachelor's degree in English at Jackson State University, and Master of Education in Reading at Delta State University. She also attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale for her PhD in Higher Education. This book revolves around her most memorable experiences as an educator both in higher level of education and in public schools.

Very insightful, great for teachers, new and experienced.

After reading Dr. Teague's book, I was reenergized about my role as a school teacher. The case studies detailed in the book, mirrored similar situations in my own classroom. The book gives the reader a chance to sit in front of the classroom, you are then able to analyze how you would react to the child in the certain behavior. I think this book is a must have for teachers, parents, administrators that have a strong commitment to success with their children and creating long lasting relationships that will eventually encourage a love for learning.
