I used to read cookbooks when I was younger. With the time flow, I became more about practice. But these recipes made me feel kind of a flashback. I started reading and could hardly keep myself from cooking all of the dishes. I am almost sure this book will serve a great guide for newbies, as well as a wonderful discovery for the chefs. I've always loved experimenting in the kitchen, now do the same with my food photography classes in school. Born and raised in Ukraine, being a lawyer, I've been travelling to different continents to make the gastronomy traditions closer, taking and capturing another culture for the others.
This is my first cookbook of such format.

Do you like dumplings as I?

I loved the pierogi from the first time, even I have tried them in childhood by grandmother's recipe. The most favorite - it's pierogi with cherries, this rustic cherry grown in the garden in the south of Ukraine. Their taste reminds me of the carefree childhood, wonderful time, a simple and delicious meal. In this book, there is a recipe my favorite dumplings, as well as many more recipes and types of this incredibly colorful and tasty dish. And the recipes collected and compiled with love, attached luxurious work of the professional food photo. Is this cookbook can leave anyone indifferent?

I knew that the author is a brilliant food photographer

The book was a godsend for me, I knew that the author is a brilliant food photographer, but when I heard that he published a book about the pierogi and it contains 32 variations of it. It became for me as revelation.
Since I am Russian for me it was not clear what could be the 32 variants of pierogi, I bought book only because of curiosity, I really wanted to know what I do not know about pierogi. Now, I can say for sure that I did not know much about it and now I can cook it in traditional or modern way, and each week amaze my family) Thanks you Alexander for this wonderful book.

When I started to look for cooking ideas, my first resource was, of course, cooking books. But it was such a challenge. Almost all of them were with amount of useless information, I’m not talking about photos and some advices. Impossible to use. I was almost totally disappointed, but accidentally find book about Pierogi. First of all it’s amazing photos! if you don’t cook, you can just watch the images! Easy instructions, amount of ideas and most important it is useful! So great!
